Details
Milies is a small foothill hamlet with stone houses, neat courtyards and flower-filled gardens.
It resembles a fairy tale country, everything is neat and in its right place.
It rests on an ancient glacial basin at the altitude of 700 m surrounded by the fat pastures of Mt. Vallina and Doc.
The environmental and landscape context is really relevant: here man has never stopped caring for nature, an old ally for his livelihood.
The loop embraces the entire basin, with beautiful passages on the summit ridge.
We will touch the peaks of Vallina and Doc in a crescendo of panoramas, starting from the left with the Feltrine peaks, in front the long “back” of Cesen-Visentin and to the right the Venetian plain with Monte Grappa closing the circle.
360 degrees of splendid visions.
DETAILS
The technically simple route is on comfortable forest roads, trails and pastures.
The proposed loop starts from the village of Milies, and in a clockwise direction, after an easy semi-flat section through the meadows, enters the forest and begins to climb more steeply the ridge leading to the summit of Mt. Vallina.
An airy ascending ridge connects it to Mount Doc, which at 1394 meters will be the highest point of our hike.

Who's your guide??
In dolomiti Beat we are all AMM Certified by the College of Alpine Guides of Veneto, to guarantee you maximum safety and professionalism and think only of your enjoyment!
The floor plan of the house in which I grew up reflects an old custom whereby the kitchen faces south and the rooms face north.
This good design rule reserved for me a small room overlooking hills and foothills, woods and meadows, inevitable not to feel attraction to that world that was just begging to be explored and that I had begun to know from that window.
As I grew up, my gaze went beyond those hills, further north, to the Dolomites and into all those mountains that give me excitement.
There they are, after all, outside my bedroom window.
"If the point at which you plunge into a river is the present, I thought, then the past is the water that has passed you by, the water that goes downward and where there is nothing left for you, while the future is the water that comes down from above, bringing dangers and surprises. The past is downstream, the future is upstream.
Whatever fate is, it dwells in the mountains above our heads."
