Mini trekking between Pizzoc and Cansiglio
85 € per person
In two days we will go around Cansiglio, first ascending to the City of Vittorio Veneto refuge on Mount Pizzoc and then entering the magnificent Cansiglio beech forest to reach the vast central plain.
We will leave Friday in the early afternoon from the locality “passo Crosetta,” about 1100 meters above sea level, on the road that goes up to Cansiglio, coming from Fregona.
The first day’s itinerary involves crossing meadows and pastures facing the plain: between Pian de l’Erba and Cadolten, to take the “Lieutenant Berry” trail that will lead us to the summit of Mt. Pizzoc.
The 360° panorama is one of the best in the entire foothills. We will be able to see, if the weather is favorable, much of the Dolomites to the north, from nearby Alpago to Pelmo, Marmolada and Sella, including the sea to the south and the mountains of Slovenia to the east.
A special refreshment station will then await us at the excellently run City of Vittorio Veneto Refuge on Mount Pizzoc; they will know how to delight our taste buds with their imaginative cuisine.
The next morning we will be ready to cross one of the most spectacular beech forests in the entire Cansiglio forest. We will continue at high altitude, heading north toward Santa Croce Lake, also passing by the famous Pian della Pita: an exclusive panoramic observatory, above the Fadalto. We will then continue downhill through a beech forest toward the Cansiglio meadows until we end our hike right in the middle of the plain among the green pastures now in bloom.
Difficulty level: medium/easy, the trail has no exposed or particularly steep sections.
Trekking also suitable for those who have never tried an experience with an overnight stay in a shelter.
The lodge accommodation has a high level of quality and comfort.
On the first day we will walk about 8 km, with a positive elevation gain of about 500 m.
The second day about 10 km with a positive elevation gain of 200 m and negative elevation gain of about 600.
The service includes the guide for the two-day excursion

Who's your guide??
In dolomiti Beat we are all AMM Certified by the College of Alpine Guides of Veneto, to guarantee you maximum safety and professionalism and think only of your enjoyment!
A lifelong lover of Sports, the Dolomites, the Alps, the Pre-Alps and the outdoors, I decided at age 40 to change my life and follow my passion: to enable people to experience the Mountains with pleasure.
In 2019 I added a new piece to my education by completing the Medium Mountain Guide Course and enrolling in the Veneto Regional College of Mountain Guides.
The greatest satisfaction I receive in accompanying an individual or group is for me, the opportunity to convey my enthusiasm and passion for this outdoor world to those who do not yet know it, or those who want to know it better.
I think the mountains can be experienced in a variety of exciting ways, all of which are correct and all of which have many merits: from the tranquility of a relaxing hike that makes us better savor the excitement of each step, to the speed of moving quickly from peak to peak.
So, here I am, I have become a mountain professional and provide my expertise to accompany you on mountain excursions, both in the Veneto and around the World, always guaranteeing your safety.
As a lifelong sports enthusiast (FIDAL instructor technician), I am also available for trail running, MTB or E-Bike routes from the foothills of the Alps to the Dolomites.
Not forgetting my experience in the company as an employee!
Precisely because I felt that this was not my path, I welcome corporate team building requests with empathy and a particular propensity for group dynamics, because the outdoors facilitates positive relationships.
