On the ancient road of the Patriarch
30 € per person
A spectacular hike on the ancient “Patriarch’s Road.”
On the border between Veneto and Friuli, between the towns of Cordignano and Caneva, a ridge climbs up to Cansiglio.
These routes were already exploited since the 1200s put the Veneto Friulian plain in communication with the Belluno area.
Starting from the Castle of Cordignano, just above the hamlet of Villa di Villa, we will climb on pleasant mule tracks and paths, pass through chestnut forests, clearings with ancient water holes and farmhouses hidden in the middle of the woods.
As we climb, the environment around us will gradually change, taking us all the way into the Cansiglio forest. Unexpectedly we will feel like we have been catapulted into another environment!
We will have gone from sunny, cultivated hills to the beautiful Cansiglio beech forest at an elevation of 900 meters.
We will reach the scenic Col Alt hill and visit the Carbonai Park.
We will then descend down the ancient Patriarch road and then continue through another important trail, “La Madonna dei Scalin,” which will take us back to conclude our loop tour.
Total development of about 12 km and 900 meters of elevation gain.
Difficulty: medium. The trails that are taken are easy and never exposed; however, they are quite strenuous to walk on because of the total elevation gain proposed. Therefore, a sufficient level of training is required.
Cost: 30€ /person

Who's your guide??
In dolomiti Beat we are all AMM Certified by the College of Alpine Guides of Veneto, to guarantee you maximum safety and professionalism and think only of your enjoyment!
A lifelong lover of Sports, the Dolomites, the Alps, the Pre-Alps and the outdoors, I decided at age 40 to change my life and follow my passion: to enable people to experience the Mountains with pleasure.
In 2019 I added a new piece to my education by completing the Medium Mountain Guide Course and enrolling in the Veneto Regional College of Mountain Guides.
The greatest satisfaction I receive in accompanying an individual or group is for me, the opportunity to convey my enthusiasm and passion for this outdoor world to those who do not yet know it, or those who want to know it better.
I think the mountains can be experienced in a variety of exciting ways, all of which are correct and all of which have many merits: from the tranquility of a relaxing hike that makes us better savor the excitement of each step, to the speed of moving quickly from peak to peak.
So, here I am, I have become a mountain professional and provide my expertise to accompany you on mountain excursions, both in the Veneto and around the World, always guaranteeing your safety.
As a lifelong sports enthusiast (FIDAL instructor technician), I am also available for trail running, MTB or E-Bike routes from the foothills of the Alps to the Dolomites.
Not forgetting my experience in the company as an employee!
Precisely because I felt that this was not my path, I welcome corporate team building requests with empathy and a particular propensity for group dynamics, because the outdoors facilitates positive relationships.
