5 days exploring the Three Peaks Nature Park, among the most iconic dolomite giants

Provincia di Belluno

6

Monte Pizzocco is the most iconic and famous peak of the Belluno Dolomites, but at the same time one of the most pristine. For the inhabitants of Feltre it is the “home mountain” and with its slender and majestic shape it appears over the Belluno valley more imposing and severe than the nearby peaks of Feltre from which it also differs in its decidedly dolomitic appearance. Starting from Roer at about 700m, we will quickly gain altitude along a narrow path in the woods until we come out on the panoramic balcony of the Casera Ere refuge at an altitude of 1297m. From here we will climb the grassy shoulder that will lead us to the summit of Monte Piz where we will take a first break to enjoy the view and recover some energy. We will then move to the opposite side of the ridge to attack the barren western side of our mountain. We will go around the Pizzocchet on its eastern side passing through an adrenaline-pumping ledge carved into the rock and we will continue to climb among gravel, rocks and mountain pines until we come out right under the metal cross filled with stones which, however….is not the summit! Two small ups and downs on the spectacular aerial ridge and we will touch the little man at the highest altitude of Monte Pizzocco 2186m. The view will be incredible: the Monti del Sole, the Vette Feltrine almost in their entirety, the iconic Pale di San Martino, the Piani Eterni basin, the Cimonega group and more in the distance the main Dolomite peaks. Filled up with beauty we will begin our descent which will allow us to admire the vertiginous and overhanging east face of our mountain up close, this time passing through Forcella Intrigos and then descending along the Val Brentaz up to the cars.
A good level of training and habit of walking in the mountains is required.

Hi, it's Jade!
I grew up between Vittorio Veneto, the town where I was born, and Chies, a small town in the mountains of Alpago, my mother's homeland where my grandparents still live.
A lifelong lover of sports and nature, I am a fitness instructor at the gym and have been mountaineering, trail running, and cycling both road and mountain biking for several years.
The mountains and I have always sought each other out even though unfortunately life has kept us apart for some time, first during my years of study in Venice where I majored in linguistic and cultural mediation with a Chinese-English major and later when work led me to move for long periods to Asia, first to Shanghai and then to Hong Kong.
It was upon my return to Italy that I began to really cultivate my passion for the outdoors, getting closer and closer to the mountains until I fell madly in love with them.
And it was on the wave of this overwhelming love that after working for a few years in local companies as a foreign salesperson, I decided to change my life and enroll in the Veneto Mountain Guides College's Medium Mountain Accompanies course, which allowed me to turn this great passion of mine into a profession.
For me, mountains are joy, serenity, curiosity, energy, effort, relief, wonder, sharing, reflection, discovery, adventure, freedom.
To put it in one word, it's LIFE....and I look forward to taking you with me to safely experience this extraordinary environment that will be able to give you unique emotions that you will carry in your heart forever!
