Veglia alpine valley basin ring
25 € per person
The Veglia Alp area is part of the Ossola Protected Areas.
They also include the newly introduced Devero Alp and Upper Antrona Valley area.
Of purely glacial origin, this basin was once a lake.
Hence its wonderful plain surrounded by rocky peaks culminating at 3554m. Of Mount Leo, the highest peak in the Lepontine Alps.
Landscape of strong contrasts where the wide spaces suddenly “disappear” into as many wonderful gorges and vertical walls.
Already shortly after our departure from Nembro, at the top of the Divedro Valley, we will be able to admire the spectacular “Gorges of the Cairasca Stream” from the dirt access road to this enchanting mountain place.
Think that this place due to its morphology is inaccessible for almost 8 months of the year as all its access routes (which are not many) are often under avalanche.
A “natural defense” that, in addition to the hiking effort to reach the place, makes Krk one of the last places not targeted by mass tourism despite its exceptional environmental beauty.
Once at the plain, a loop tour will touch on the most characteristic points to better appreciate the location.
